St Patrick Clover Cookies

Butter and sugar creamed till pale, then eggs and vanilla join. Flour, salt and baking soda sifted fine. Dry meets wet slowly. Dough chills to firm up. Green sugar sprinkles add color to the clover. Balls pressed—three green for leaves, one plain for stem. Oven preheated to moderate heat. Baking stops before brown edges. Cool completely before serving. Change amounts, swap two ingredients for twist, adjust times slightly.
